about

Francesco Massaro & Francesco Pellegrino

Double Exposure was born from the meeting of two electroacoustic musicians, Francesco Massaro and Francesco Pellegrino, resulting from the mutual following of musical careers and artistic choices, which lead to meeting together in Florence in June 2021, on the stage of the MurateArtDistrict.
As rarely happens, the first improvisation confirms the stylistic affinity of the duo and in fact the recording of this first evening will be taken by the Amirani Records label which immediately releases a record (out in February 2022).
They immediately meet for a new concert at the Palagianello castle in October.
At this point the duo is done and begins to present itself as such from 2022.
Double Exposure is this, a double exposure, from two different experiences that meet on their way; on the one hand Massaro, saxophonist and composer is getting closer and closer to the world of electronics, especially real-time synthesis and live electronics; on the other, Pellegrino was born as an electroacoustic musician and began studying as a self-taught clarinet and saxophone, merging acoustic research with electronic skills.
The duo meets in the middle, in the art of improvisation, in the research and care of sound, in the desire to explode all the strength of the encounter.
